All guides along with recreational fisherman legally registered for the Tuna Kahuna Rodeo are eligible for winnings.

Any parties fishing with a guide will have the opportunity to pre-register for $20 per day. Registration is non-refundable.

Any pre-registered angler that catches a prize winning fish on a guided trip will forfeit 25% of the winnings to that{Guide}vessel's owner. In case of setting new state record yellowfin tuna the guide is to take $2,500 of the $10,000 winnings but the 2008 Ford F150 Lariat truck belongs to the angler that set the record and in case of setting new Wahoo state record guide{vessel owner} will recieve 7,500 of the 30,000 prize.

Guides who have not registered their boat for the rodeo will not be eligible for any winnings won by their individually registered customer.

All winnings will be given on April 5,2008 at the Tuna Kahuna Rodeo held at Venice Marina and winning participants need not be in attendance.

Only persons who register for the “Rodeo” and either receive an entry receipt or are listed on the “Rodeo’s” list of eligible participants are eligible to participate. All participants and fish must comply with the rules and regulations of the State of Louisiana governing the recreational harvest of saltwater fish in 2008.

All fish entered into competition for prizes must have been caught and landed by the participant on rod, hook and line exclusively. Boundaries are the territorial waters of the State of Louisiana, including Louisiana’s common boundary waters with Texas and Mississippi as defined by Louisiana law and the extension of Louisiana boarders seaward 200 miles. Fish taken outside “Rodeo” boundaries, from private impoundments or other waters not legally accessible to the general public, will not be eligible for entry.

All winning fish shall be determined by weight. Only weights indicated on the official “Rodeo” scale will be accepted. In the event of a tie, the fish that was weighed-in first shall be declared the winner. The participant on whose behalf the fish is weighed must catch all fish.

The officially appointed marinas must weigh all fish entered on the official “Rodeo” scale during the time established for the weigh-in. All fish entered shall be weighed only once, unless in the determination of the Weigh-master, a second weighing is necessary to obtain an accurate weight. The Weigh-master or Assistant Weigh-master may mark all fish entered in the “Rodeo”, such as by clipping a tail or fin. No transfer of fish among “Rodeo” boats shall be allowed.

All fish must be entered and weighed at the official “Rodeo” weigh station. No frozen spoiled, gutted, altered, or mutilated fish will be eligible for entry.

Any person, including minors, entering a prize-winning fish or claiming a prize must agree to take a polygraph test, and each person entering the “Rodeo” agrees to submit to a polygraph test administered by a polygraphist certified by the Louisiana State Polygraph Board. Any polygraph test required by these rules shall be taken at a time, place and before the certified polygraphist designated by the Tuna Kahuna Fishing Rodeo. Failure to take or to pass the required polygraph test shall result in disqualification. All travel expenses for such polygraph examination are to be paid by entrant.

The decision of the Tuna Kahuna Fishing Rodeo in its sole discretion shall be final on any and all matters.

In the event of any litigation between a participant and the Tuna Kahuna Fishing Rodeo, and/or any of the other sponsoring entities that arises, out of any aspect whatsoever of the “Rodeo”, the losing party in said litigation shall be bound to pay all attorney’s fees, expenses of litigation, court costs and other costs incurred by the winning party in said litigation. The entire responsibility for valid entry and eligibility rests solely on the participant.

Each participant is responsible for knowing the rules of the “Rodeo” and, by participating in the “Rodeo”, agrees to comply with and abide by all rules of the “Rodeo”.
